Day 30 – Your favorite book of all time
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by JK Rowling Please do forgive the state of this book. I know that the spine is already cracked and the jacket is wrinkled and slightly tattered. But this is due to the fact that I have read this book a lot of times. And yes, it is my all time favorite book. Of all the books I own and read, the Harry Potter series have been the closest to my heart since I...

Re-watching Sherlock Holmes I and II.
Gawd, Steven Moffat is killing me. How long should I wait before the next season start? Look at how desperate I am! I am watching the movie again even though it’s not Cumberbatch and Freeman. It’s just that I have watched BBC Sherlock seasons 1 and 2 three times already during this summer vacation. And even though I very much prefer the British Sherlock, RDJ is still played version quite well. I...

Day 29 – A book everyone hated but you liked
Prozac Nation by Elizabeth Wurtzel I cannot think of any book hated by everyone but I like. I thought of the Twilight series being hated by everyone, but I don’t like it either. So I scanned my shelf and remembered this book. It isn’t exactly dislike by everyone, but I have heard and read a lot about people not liking the theme of this book. So, I guess this is the closest I can get...

What is it with my luck this week?
Just look at what I got today! Another book! And not just any book, it’s Insurgent! The one book I am dying to have ever since it was officially released last May 1st. I have read it already on eBook but it’s a different feeling having the actual book. Oh and finding it is not what I’m referring to as my luck. No. I considered this day lucky because this book was given to me by...

Awesome-est friend ever.
Lalalalala. My happiness right now is inexplicable because of this book. It’s been so long, and I finally got my hands on it! I am just so freaking happy. You might say that I am overreacting but I really don’t care. I wanted to have this book (well it’s not actually a book) so bad for the last couple of years and I have been hunting for it in every bookstore I go to. And all...

Day 28 – Favorite title
The Solitude of Prime Numbers by Paolo Giordono I cannot really exactly explain why I like the title of this book. Unlike other books, which I choose because of the plot or the genre, I pick this up because I found the title interesting. How many books have something connected to math in their front covers? Plus, it made me think as to why it was entitled like this. What is it with the prime...

Books I am planning to buy when I get my next paycheck. So, I am almost done with my summer job and I am expecting to receive my next paycheck within this week. Aside from a new phone, being the bookaholic that I am, I surely am going to buy new books. Of course, I already have my list of books to purchase. And here they are: Go Ask Alice by Beatrice Sparks Carrie by Stephen King Between...

Day 27 – The most surprising plot twist or ending
My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult NO SPOILERS, I SWEAR. Now, I know that this book was made into a movie and I have watched the film itself. But for this book challenge, let us disregard that rotten movie and focus on the book. If you’re wondering why, it’s because the movie and the book has a very different ending, which makes me dislike the adaptation so much. Reading the summary at the...

It’s not funny at all. Oh my. The feels. You blithering idiots. He will die. And you guys will only recognize him because of that code name. Oh George.  Sorry, I’m being very emotional aren’t I? Shit, I knew it was a bad thing to re-watch this show right from the very beginning. Damn.

Re-watching the first season of Grey's Anatomy.
They all look so young then! Was it really that long ago? Oh and I haven’t seen George O’Malley and Isobel Stevens for too long now that I forget how awesome and funny they are. Oh and Chief Weber looks to weird with his graying hair and mustache. Haha. And Meredith looks so fresh and beautiful. I almost forgot that Preston Burke existed.

Matilda Wormwood from Roald Dahl’s Matilda If someone would ask me who Matilda is, I would really be disappointed. I mean hello guys, she’s like the best bookworm fictional character in the history of children’s book. Well, I guess that’s only my opinion. And that is part of the reason why this character is the one I can relate to the most. Ever since I was child, I prefer reading book compare...

I am not a Lady Gaga fan but I am really getting sick and tired of what’s on the news regarding her upcoming concert here in the Philippines. According to what I heard from the news, 300 deeply-religious Catholic protesters demanded to ban the said event, claiming that the artist is blasphemous and immoral. Well you know what? I think these people’s protests are ridiculous and pathetic. I mean,...

Torchwood is quite good!
So I finally got into watching the first season and right now, I’m on the third episode. I must say, it’s really good. I mean, it’s a bit more vague compared to Doctor Who when it comes to specific information about the aliens and stuff. Of course, they’re only humans without help from the Doctor. But it’s really exciting to watch. I got to see more of Captain Jack Harkness and the lonely...

Got this one from John Green’s tumblr post. OMG. That mean a new edition of An Abundance of Katherines will come out. Should I buy that one? I’m really excited to see this new cover. I mean, my copy of the book is a bit battered since I bought it from a second-hand bookstore. So I guess I can buy a new one, right? Plus the cover was made by a nerdfighter! Just how awesome is that!...

A Million Little Pieces by James Frey This book may probably be one of the most controversial memoirs ever written. It’s not because of the theme or the content or writing style, it was because the author allegedly fabricated most of the events that he supposedly experienced while he was in a treatment facility. But I don’t really care about that. Get past the issues surrounding...

Fifty Shades of Utter Disappointment.
Despite reading a lot of negative reviews from different sources, I started reading Fifty Shades of Grey last night. It’s not that I actually liked the premise I got from the summary, no. I am just curious about what really is the reason behind such disappointment. Plus there are also a number of people who gave it positive responses. And so I gave it a try, just to know if it’s a good book or...

I had a very freaking bad nightmare.
I woke up shaking so bad and crying. This is the first time that happened to me. I was so scared and I didn’t know what to do. I feel so heavy and sick. In my nightmare, my mom died. And it was because my sister and I left her alone. Shit. I really don’t want that to happen again. This is the worst nightmare ever. It scared the living hell out of me. Now, I am so afraid to sleep...

This episode was just so painful, literally and figuratively. I can help but cringe during those bloody scenes where they had to operate on themselves with whatever objects they have. The Mark-Lexie scene was also so heart-wrenching that I can fight back my tears. Damn, the next episode should be a lot less tragic. Please, I don’t want any more of my favorite characters to die. It’s...

Insurgent by Veronica Roth
Insurgent is the second book in the Divergent trilogy written by Veronica Roth. If you haven’t read the first book, you might as well read this review first and pick up the said book for, surely, you wouldn’t understand this post. This would also seem to be a huge spoiler for the first book. So I suggest that you stop reading this now. But if you have already read Divergent, I can safely assume...
