Have to take a break from fiction this week and tackle these big ol’ meanies instead.
We are going to have our finals this Friday on one of our major subjects, Clinical Education. And lo and behold, the coverage would be every topic from the 1st to 2nd semester. That means I have to be on B.D.S.M. (Braddom, DeLisa, Sullivan, Molnar & Magee) mode and reread most of the chapters from them. Brilliant. I think I am going to die this week. I think I’ll be needing shots of concentrated caffeine in my bloodstream if I want to finish all of these. Wish me luck guys. Prepare to see my huge and dark eyebags on the weekend.

Still quite alone in my dorm so I decided to pick a book for today. Silence, I think, is the best company whenever I immerse myself in books. And so, I paused reading Jodi Picoult and Samantha van Leer’s Between The Lines and turned to this book instead. These past few weeks, I keep on jumping from one book to another without finishing them. I don’t know but when the story line gets a bit draggy, I would always want to read another one with better plot.
It’s not that I won’t finish reading Between The Lines. It’s just that I think I need a break from all the mushy and cheesy lines its characters have. And so I turn to a fantasy book. I haven’t finished the first book (The Magician’s Nephew) in this unabridged edition yet, so I think I should go on with it. I am a quarter of the way through and I am enjoying the ambiance in my room right now. It’s getting dark even at 12 noon. I guess it’s about to rain, which would make everything much more perfect with me snuggling with my pillows in bed and reading, a cup of coffee sitting on my bedside table.
Oh, and pardon my humongous thighs.

Farewell Breakfast
A while ago, my younger sister surprised me with this stuff for a supposed mini “breakfast in bed”. Now don’t look down on what she has prepared, for this toasted garlic bread and blended coffee might be the most difficult one she has ever done. You see, my sister is just 13 years old and she doesn’t have the slightest bit of cooking genes in her body. So I guess this really took much effort from her part. Oh, and don’t mind the Spongebob tumbler, my sister claims she likes to use this one, so yeah.
You might be wondering as to why the sudden gesture. Well, this morning was my “last” breakfast at home since I went back to my dorm this afternoon because my classes would resume tomorrow. My sister told me that she knows that I miss home-cooked meals the most during my stay at my dorm, that’s why she made it.
It was actually good and the coffee’s fine, but the funny part was that she made me this at 1:00pm. Yup, past noon time. Basically, it’s not breakfast anymore but she insists that she cannot really make me breakfast since I always wake up very late during the semestral break. Anyways, I thought it was a cute thing, though. We’re not really vocal about our relationship as siblings but I guess she will miss me for I rarely go home due to my busy schedule.

Almost done reading this book. Started with it just this morning. I swear, this one is truly heart-breaking. I am a mess with all the emotions it triggered. I think I can just relate so much. It’s a good thing I never tried reading it in public.
Book review coming up it a bit. :)

STUDY HABITS

Since our prelim exams will start on Wednesday, I had to pause all my leisure readings and put away those wonderful books. Since our first tests on will be for Pathology and Therapeutic Exercises, I decided to start studying for Patho to knock off some weight from the combined bulk of coverage for the two. I also chose to start with it since I find it easier compared to Thera Ex. So here I am, past midnight, still studying. Here’s a little random fact on how I study:

  • I highlight important details on powerpoint lectures using different colored markers.
  • If there’s a book reference for that lecture, I would do the same and highlight on.
  • Then I compare the two and combine the details, then proceed on re-writing everything on a separate notebook.
  • And finally, I would read the ones I’ve written, all over again, for maximum retention.

It’s quite time consuming and tiring, but it really works for me. I’ve been like this ever since college and I think it’s great and helping once you find a study style that suits you. Oh and one other thing, I cannot study without my coffee boost.

Perfect for a cold rainy day: Zombie Apocalypse book + Coffee.  ♥
So I started reading Rot & Ruin by Jonathan Maberry last night and got past a hundred pages before succumbing to sleep. I really want to finish this book today because I know that next week is yet another busy and hectic week for academics.
So far, I am getting intrigued about their belief system and the ethical/moral views regarding the living dead in this novel. I want to know more about their post-apocalyptic societal system and the secret they are hiding, especially about all the fuss in advance technology. So far, I can say that I am enjoying this book. I hope to finish it today before studying for my quizzes.

Come, and do the happy dance with me!

As I’ve said before, I was only able to buy the second volume since I wasn’t able to find the first one. But today, I finally got the first volume of Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Novels and Stories!! Now, I can start reading it because I have both volumes and I don’t have to worry anymore. I am just so awfully happy right now.

I was out with my new roommate and we were in the mall to have the keys duplicated. And then, as always, I went for a little visit at the bookstore. I was actually supposed to buy some new notebooks since classes would start this Monday. But of course, like in any other bookstore, I wouldn’t pass the chance to check on the book section. And there it was! A whole new stack of the two volumes of Sherlock Holmes. Oh and I definitely picked it up and bought a copy. Good thing I brought extra money.

So now, I think I would have to stop reading my other books and try to finish these before school starts. And it’s a good time to read too. The weather is perfect, with all this rain. I could make a steaming mug of coffee and be cozy in bed while reading these.

Woah. It’s raining again. That’s the second time this week now. Whatever happened to summer? Haha. Oh, like I care. I like this kind of weather better. Add a steaming mug of coffee and a good book, and it’s perfect.

Good morning everyone! Jeez, I still haven’t slept yet.
It’s always like this during summer or any vacation, on that matter. It would start by me being up until 1am then finally falling asleep, and waking up at around 12 noon. Then it would get worse. Soon I would stay awake up until 3am, reading a book or watching a TV series. I would get so caught up in what I’m doing that I won’t realize that time has past. So now, it’s 7:40am and I am still unbelievably awake and not a hint of weariness at all. Talk about weird sleeping patterns. Damn, my body clock is just so fucked up. Plus, it doesn’t help that I like drinking coffee in the evening. Would I die if I continue this routine? Probably.
Oh well, hello to you all. Pardon the messy hair. It’s too damn hot to keep it down. Right now, I’m trying to finish John Green’s Will Grayson, Will Grayson before hitting the sack. Have a good day! :)

Today in bullets

  • Started watching all the nerdfighter videos from the beginning at around 2am
  • Finished 37 videos and fell asleep at around 7:30am
  • Woke up at 11am
  • Lunch wasn’t prepared yet so I waited by making a coffee graham shake
  • Fell asleep at around 12:30pm without eating lunch
  • Woke up 5 minutes ago (6:25pm)
  • Just starting to eat my supposed lunch
  • Fuck.

This is such a lame and very unproductive day. My body clock is so screwed, I don’t know how to fix it. And damn, I’m supposed to be at UST tomorrow by 9am. How am I gonna be awake at that time? Shit. I am so fucked.

I tried not to drink coffee, for “health reasons”. My system has been been deprived of the caffeine goodness for three days, and you know what? SCREW IT. I’m gonna make a nice big steaming mug today. I just cannot stand it.

Finals? All-nighters? I guess I’m just “well-prepared”.

Just look at my instant coffee stash! Haha, I think these will keep me up for a month! Sorry, I don’t have the budget to go to ~*Starbucks*~ every night. I am not wealthy enough, you know. Plus, I cannot study well in a coffee shop crowded with so many people. Anyways, I have a lot of different brands of coffee because I tend to experiment. I mix them all up, when I’m bored. Another one of my quirks, I guess. I experiment with drinks and food. Oh well, gotta go back studying this big-ass book. Bye for now!

Say hello to my study buddies.

Aside from my ever beloved Mr. Coffee, I also have Ms. Eggpie, Ms. Double Dutch, and Mr. Mamon. Hahahaha. I just cannot study without food beside me, so yeah. I do believe in the saying “You cannot think well and study on an empty stomach.”

I just need these comfort food tonight. I have to study for 3 quizzes and 2 recitations. And I have just finished my written report. Our class tomorrow starts at 7am, so good luck to me. BTW, I don’t care if these things make me fat. Want sooooooome?

2 mugs of coffee beside me. Mugs not cups.

I need it now. I just finished doing a written report due tomorrow and I still need to study for a quiz and recitation tomorrow. I’m a bit sleepy so I need a boost and what better solution is there other than coffee? Sadly, due to my caffeine addiction, I guess I’m too immune for only one cup. It has no effect on me so I keep my brew strong and a lot. The two mugfuls is working for now, but I’m afraid that I might need more in the future. I know too much is bad, but I can’t help it. I just love coffee so much.

The awful thing about being a coffee addict is that you get immune to it’s effect. I am still sleepy even after drinking two mugs. Damn.
