What better way to relieve stress than have a book shopping spree?

HELL WEEK IS OFFICIALLY OVER. Yes, our preliminary exams came to an end today. This week had been so stressful that I didn’t have any time to go online and post some new stuff.

Anyways, since I feel so down about some of my tests, my friends and I decided to go out tonight. We chose to go to The Fort and go on a food trip and whatever else we can do there. So we ate at Trellis and window shopped a bit. We also had dessert at Conti’s and bought Gelatissmo ice creams. It was indeed a full-on binge. And of course, since the main branch of Fullybooked is there, how can I not step into the store? It was a full four-story heaven for a big book geek like me.

Honestly, I wish that I could live there, surrounded by tons of books. So yeah, I took my time and browsed every shelf until I found these awesome books. I have been looking for them ever since, and I found almost all of my to-buy there. No words can describe the fulfillment I felt when I grabbed them out of the shelves and place them on the counter. It is the best way to forget the stress the exams have given me. I felt so much better. Now, I have the complete Ned Vizzini books. And I am so ready to have my summer vacation. My to-read books are already preapared!

If you are curious with my purchases, here they are with the prices:

Cut by Patricia McCormick (Php 294)

Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen (Php 350)

Teen Angst? by Ned Vizzini (Php 378)

It’s Kind Of A Funny Story by Ned Vizzini (Php 360)

The Designated Ugly Fat Friend by Kody Keplinger (Php 360)

And with a grand total of Php 1724.

I know it’s a bit much but I just can’t help myself. Plus, this is my last book haul for this month. I won’t be buying any book soon since I have to save up for The Cab, Dashboard Confessional and The Used concert on March.

Stuck home and happy.

Well, my sister and all of my cousins went off to Bataan a while ago for the New Year’s celebration. And uh, I chose not to go with them. My mom, uncles, aunts and grandparents were disappointed but I don’t care. I don’t want to have the awkward family reunion again where I get to have a whole day faking smiles and conversations with relatives I barely know. I don’t know if I’m gonna be spending the new year here at home or my mom would drag me to Bataan on the 31st. It’s fine with me if it’s on the last minute. I just don’t know what to do there for 5 days if I went now. So yeah, I’m gonna be home alone with our maid for almost a week. I’m not complaining. At least I get to do things that I want, maybe even go out without having to ask permission. Yup, I do well being alone. ‘Cause I’m a loser like that.

"I consider what freedom really means. And I realize, maybe I am not so free after all."
Lisa Schroeder (I Heart You, You Haunt Me)
"I want out of the labels. I don’t want my whole life crammed into a single word. A story. I want to find something else, unknowable, some place to be that’s not on the map. A real adventure. A spinx. A mystery. A blank. Unknown. Undefined"
Chuck Palahniuk

To do list for the day.

Since my good friend/dormmate and I have no classes today and have nothing better to do, here are what we’re planning to do for this day. We don’t want to spend money ‘cause we’re cheap that way, so here goes:

  • Play the Sims 3 and Mystery Case Files games we have in our laptops.
  • Watch Atonement(for me) and Limitless(for her).
  • Read Perfume: A Murderer’s Story.
  • Fold and fix clothes for laundry.
  • Watch The Big Bang Theory Season 2(for me) and HIMYM(for her)

I think we’ll have a splendid day inside. Hahaha. At least we get to spend a day in an air conditioned room. This wouldn’t be the same next week for I know we’ll be busy with school work, so we better savor this free time now.
