Hello, my dear followers. Good evening!
Look what I got from the bookstore today! It’s Sherlock Holmes by none other than Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
I wasn’t actually planning to buy a book right now since I’m still saving up for a good haul. But then I was too early for my summer job and I decided to pass by a bookstore first just to browse for any good book. And then I found this one. Sadly, it’s the second volume and no matter how much I searched, I cannot find the first. Nevertheless, I still bought it since I don’t really need to read Sherlock Holmes in a certain order.
I am curious about the novels since I have watched and fangirled over BBC Sherlock, so I want to know how different the book and show are. I know for a fact that the show was modernized and completely more futuristic with all the tech-y stuff. I guess I wanted to read how the original Sherlock worked his brilliance to solve the mysteries of Victorian England. I know that Sherlock Holmes is considered to be one of the best classics ever written.
I am not really a big fan of detective books but then the mystery, cleverness and plot twists I have watched on the show is enough to convince me that the book might also be a good read. Hopefully, I can find the other volumes so that I can enjoy the whole thing completely.

Good morning everyone! Jeez, I still haven’t slept yet.
It’s always like this during summer or any vacation, on that matter. It would start by me being up until 1am then finally falling asleep, and waking up at around 12 noon. Then it would get worse. Soon I would stay awake up until 3am, reading a book or watching a TV series. I would get so caught up in what I’m doing that I won’t realize that time has past. So now, it’s 7:40am and I am still unbelievably awake and not a hint of weariness at all. Talk about weird sleeping patterns. Damn, my body clock is just so fucked up. Plus, it doesn’t help that I like drinking coffee in the evening. Would I die if I continue this routine? Probably.
Oh well, hello to you all. Pardon the messy hair. It’s too damn hot to keep it down. Right now, I’m trying to finish John Green’s Will Grayson, Will Grayson before hitting the sack. Have a good day! :)

Played with the lighting, saturation, contrast and colors. Forgive me for I am not an expert at this. Haha.

I just think it’s time for a change of DP.

Of course I do not have ant “summer-y” pictures since I do not go out like “normal” teenagers. So I settled with this one which was taken this morning. The only sunlight I get is when I  read outside my house. Which is, I might say, not very frequent. I am such a home buddy and my mom is itching to drag me out of my cave, aka my room. She’ll probably get her wish since I’ll be spending time with my friends on Friday, then go to UST on Sunday and Monday. The only good thing about that is that I’ll be given money, which I really need since I’m far too broke during vacations.

Anyways, good evening friends! How are you tonight? Hope you’re not as boring as me, just reading. I’m already halfway rereading City of Bones and I want to finish it tonight. Go have your dinner and enjoy this night! :)

It only takes a split second to smile and forget, yet to someone that needed it, it can last a lifetime. We should all smile more often.”

New DP. I am not going to use boredom as an excuse for being a camwhore today. I just feel like being vain and taking pictures of myself. So yeah, this is the outcome.

Good evening friends! I won’t be staying long as I will log off soon. Earth hour is less than an hour from now, and it won’t hurt to sacrifice just an hour on the internet for energy conservation. So yup, that’s it. Just TA me if you want to talk. :)

Cheaper book finds.

As many of you already know, I am big on book hoarding. And yes, I frequent as much bookstores as possible every time I go out. So last night, I went to the mall to buy an alarm clock because my phone got stolen, which is what I usually use as an alarm. Again, the magical pull of bookstores overpowered my will and I went to NBS and Booksale.

I found Peter Hoeg’s Borderliners at Booksale. I am not familiar with the book, neither with the author, but I read the summary and it is a dystopian novel. It’s about an elite school with a peculiar set of rules and uses the children for some kind of bizzare social experiment. It somehow reminds me of Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go, so I decided to buy it. Imagine my surprise when I looked at the tag and it was priced at 45 pesos ($1.00)! And the book is at a good state, no dog-eared pages and the cover isn’t bent or anything.

And then I finally got into the Game of Thrones bandwagon. My roommate recommended it to me and said that it was good. I have also read a lot of excellent review about the series. I watch the HBO series and I must say that I like the storyline. So I went ahead and bought the first book. It was priced at 315 pesos (about $7.00) and then when I went to the cashier, it was marked down to 250 pesos. So I got about 20% off! Well, I guess I just have good luck with books. Which I do wish was also applicable in other aspects of my life.

So yeah, that’s that. Just 3 more exam days and I’ll be having my vacation. I can finally knock off some books from my to-read list! :D

Look at what I’ve been studying about.

lalalalalalala… a tinee tiny PENIS!! lol

Yeah, we have an Anatomy quiz tomorrow about the perineum (part of the body that contains the reproductive organs). Trust me, it was so weird dissecting a dead man’s penis during our Anatomy Lab time. No one wants to do it. Our male classmates said that it was sacrilege and the females, wouldn’t even touch it. But it has to be done, so in the end, one of our male groupmates did the the dissection. And oh yes, now I am staring at a bunch of pictures of penises and vaginas. Both drawings or actual ones. And I have to memorize the parts. And even learn the mechanisms of erection. How weird. Haha. Well, this is a PT’s life. Got to get past the awkward reproductive organs. As for me, I didn’t have that awkward phase. It’s actually fine with me. I mean, I’ve watched enough porn before so I’m kinda used to how the “thing” looks. During in our lab, I just touch it and point out the different parts, like it’s the most normal thing to do. Lalalala.

Say hello to my study buddies.

Aside from my ever beloved Mr. Coffee, I also have Ms. Eggpie, Ms. Double Dutch, and Mr. Mamon. Hahahaha. I just cannot study without food beside me, so yeah. I do believe in the saying “You cannot think well and study on an empty stomach.”

I just need these comfort food tonight. I have to study for 3 quizzes and 2 recitations. And I have just finished my written report. Our class tomorrow starts at 7am, so good luck to me. BTW, I don’t care if these things make me fat. Want sooooooome?

If only I am as lucky in my love life as I am in book hunting..

Went out to go to the mall because I have to buy some stuff I need at my dorm. Of course I chose the mall with my favorite bookstore, so I went to SM Mall of Asia. It didn’t even took me more than 15 minutes to buy the things I need. And then, I immediately head off to Fullybooked to look for any good book I can find.

Well, my luck paid off and I found three books that are in my to-buy list. I got another David Levithan book, The Lover’s Dictionary. It was the last stock available in that branch and one other guy was holding it. I was already getting very much envious because I really wanted this book. But then, as he was going around, he found another book and put The Lover’s Dictionary down. The moment he let go, I immediately picked it up and the guy saw me. He looked at me and gave this funny look. I just smile and said, “Thank you for putting this down!” And then he laughed. Who cares? At least I got the book. I also found Michael Thomas Ford’s Suicide Notes and Walton’s Cracked at the shelves. I grabbed them both and decided I have enough so I bought them all.

If only I was this lucky in finding that special person, then maybe I’d be happier. Haha. Oh well, at least I am very satisfied with my hoard today. Hope I can finally read these books. I want to have my vacation already so that I can have time!

Time for a reread.

Since there’s barely a month left before the movie is released, I think that it is timely for a reread of The Hunger Games trilogy. Since I am also deprived of reading fictional books, I would make use of our four-day break to finish all three books. I’m a quarter of the way with the first book and I must say, though I have read it twice before, I still am enjoying every bit of the dystopian scene.

Same as my first time reading it, I don’t really get why people are fighting over Team Gale and Team Peeta. I think that it was very clear from the beginning that Katniss only sees Gale as a very trusted friend. It was obvious from the start that Peeta would be the one filling in the romantic department of Katniss’ life.

Aside from this, I also still feel repulsed by the Hunger Games itself. I think that it mirrors the society that we live in today, although not exactly in that way. People are turning a blind eye to every misdemeanor and grave issue of the world. Instead of doing something, all we do is watch and enjoy how other people suffer. We just stand in the sidelines, safe and never wanting to be involved in changing the disrupted world. Our fear becomes our own enemy. We are too afraid to try anything to make this world a better place.

I think this is the best part about the book. It shows people how to be brave and stand up against the wrongs, even though everybody seems fine with it. Katniss is the one person that was able to ignore her personal safety in order to help thousands of others. She became their strength and model. And as ever, this is the reason why I love the series so much.

Finally got my signed copy of John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars

And because of this, I am at the brink of euphoria. I got a message from Fully Booked that copies of The Fault in Our Stars arrived a while ago and that I only have 3 days dibs on the book due to my reservation. And so since I don’t have any classes today, I immediately went to MOA to purchase it. As usual, I cannot leave a bookstore without browsing the shelves. And that’s what I did. I looked for some books and guess who’s lucky enough to find another John Green book? Me! I’ve been looking for Paper Town for months now. I am so overwhelmed with happiness and it made my day!

Now, I only need to find one more book to complete my John Green collection. I really feel bad since I found “Will Grayson, Will Grayson” in a booksale a year ago but I did not buy it. Back then, I didn’t know that finding that book was a rare chance. So now, I am in desperate desire to get my hands on a copy. I hope I can find it soon. Really soon. :)

I am a lot of things altogether.

I am a math geek, a book nerd, a PT student. I am talkative, but also quiet at times. I am weird and crazy. I am snob but also caring. I get nervous but I can also be too confident. I eat a lot. I get angry, I cry. I can be stupid at one moment and very serious on another. I get cranky, I have issues. I am all of that put together.

But tonight, I am vain. Yes. I don’t know but I just want to take a picture of myself and tweak the colors, so there. I don’t deny being a camwhore. Like every girl, I have my vain side. And now, it’s showing. So yep, hello friends. This is me right now, at this time of night (or day, depending on how you look at it).

So, should I use this as my new DP?

Let me just fill your dash with my huge face.

Hello there. I am staring at you. Yes, you. You should be scared. Are you scared now? Are you???

Oh yeah, this is the face of the insane person you are following. Hope you’re still okay there.

Hahaha. Sorry. I just got bored. I’m studying for three quizzes tomorrow and I not even halfway done. So as usual, I just ended up taking a picture of myself. Look at those enormous eye bags! Seriously, they are so big. This is the effect of being back to school for just a bit more than two weeks. It’s really insane. So anyways, just want to greet everyone a good evening! Gotta go back to my thick and awesome textbooks. Ta ta.
