So I guess my July book haul wasn’t over yet.
See, this is why I don’t usually go to book sales, especially of my favorite bookstore. I just cannot stop myself from splurging and buying lots and lots of books.
Today was the second day of Fully Booked’s 5th-year anniversary sale. Their books are on 20% discount, but only on selected branches. Of course, I just happen to have a friend who lives near one store and he took me there (well, more like I forced him to). So, we went there a while ago and he witnessed my crazed expression as I saw shelves after shelves of book on sale.
On the bad side I got to use up most of my money saved for Maroon 5’s concert. Oh well. But on the good side of things, I got to knock off 7 books from my to-buy list. I have been looking for these books for so long and I was lucky enough to find them.
Here are the books I got to buy today:
Rot and Ruin by Jonathan Maberry
Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma
I am the Messenger by Markus Zusak
Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan
The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart
Go Ask Alice by Beatrice Sparks
Carrie by Stephen King
Total Expenses: Php2495
Discounted Price: Php1995
I saved 500 pesos! Haha. I really took advantage of the sale!
Also, since our prelim exams are over, I get to have the chance to read a book. And I think I’ll be starting with Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares. :)

Random Fact:
I always keep this list of books-to-buy. It is kept in my wallet so that every time I go out, I have it with me. This particular one is from last year. I have bought more than half of the books listed in it. I take it out whenever I enter any bookstore so I can hunt for the said books. If my quest fails, I hand it over to the person-in-charge so they can check it on their catalog. When I found a book, I always have a highlighter ready to cross out the title from the list. My mom said it would be easier if I just put the list on my phone, but I insist that this one is better. I’m hoping to find and but the remaining books this year, maybe around the school year since I am broke right now.
And again, sorry for the crappy photo quality. As I’ve said the camera’s with my sister.

Fantastic finds.

And our four-day long break had officially began. I was supposed to go straight home from my dorm but then my uncle was driving by the gate of our subdivision and saw me. I asked where he was going and he said that he’s off to the mall to get something for my baby cousin. He asked if I wanted to come and of course, I did. I would never miss a chance to go to a mall when there is a good bookstore I can visit, with a prospect of hunting a new book.

So here are the books I found which, I must say, are very good finds. I found the only John Green book that I didn’t have yet. I actually squealed and did a little jump when I found it on the top shelf. So now, I have all of his books and I am so happy. Plus I also found this one book about the Hunger Games movie. It was published by Scholastica, the same publisher of the book series. Inside are pictures and details about each tribute, the set and some sneak peak of the movie itself. I immediately grabbed it and know that I will regret not buying it. And lastly, I got The Best of Chico and Delamar’s The Morning Rush Top 10. It is a local book that lists some of the funniest top 10s that was featured on their radio show. I seriously laughed out loud with every list I read.

All in all, I think my four-day long break would be awesome. It would be a nice time to catch up on my reading and finally knock off a book or two from my to-read list. I wish that I can finish at least three books, aside from my Hunger Games reread. I really don’t want to go out and party during this little vacation. I want to spend my precious time with my ever trusted books.

What better way to relieve stress than have a book shopping spree?

HELL WEEK IS OFFICIALLY OVER. Yes, our preliminary exams came to an end today. This week had been so stressful that I didn’t have any time to go online and post some new stuff.

Anyways, since I feel so down about some of my tests, my friends and I decided to go out tonight. We chose to go to The Fort and go on a food trip and whatever else we can do there. So we ate at Trellis and window shopped a bit. We also had dessert at Conti’s and bought Gelatissmo ice creams. It was indeed a full-on binge. And of course, since the main branch of Fullybooked is there, how can I not step into the store? It was a full four-story heaven for a big book geek like me.

Honestly, I wish that I could live there, surrounded by tons of books. So yeah, I took my time and browsed every shelf until I found these awesome books. I have been looking for them ever since, and I found almost all of my to-buy there. No words can describe the fulfillment I felt when I grabbed them out of the shelves and place them on the counter. It is the best way to forget the stress the exams have given me. I felt so much better. Now, I have the complete Ned Vizzini books. And I am so ready to have my summer vacation. My to-read books are already preapared!

If you are curious with my purchases, here they are with the prices:

Cut by Patricia McCormick (Php 294)

Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen (Php 350)

Teen Angst? by Ned Vizzini (Php 378)

It’s Kind Of A Funny Story by Ned Vizzini (Php 360)

The Designated Ugly Fat Friend by Kody Keplinger (Php 360)

And with a grand total of Php 1724.

I know it’s a bit much but I just can’t help myself. Plus, this is my last book haul for this month. I won’t be buying any book soon since I have to save up for The Cab, Dashboard Confessional and The Used concert on March.

And so I’m back from book shopping.

And these are the books I have found. Sorry for the crappy photo quality. I used my webcam since my camera isn’t here in my dorm. Words cannot express how happy I am to find these amazing books. Some of them, I’ve been desperately looking for over a year already. And yes, I guess I am just lucky. All of these books are on my to-buy list and now, I finally have them. It just sucks that I won’t be reading any of these soon since I have my exams coming. But oh well, my heart is just so glad now that I am in possession of these great books.

Here are the titles and the price if you are interested in buying them too:

The Absolute True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie (Php 399)

Going Bovine by Libba Bray (Php 462)

Let It Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle (Php 294)

Boy Meets Boy by David Levithan (Php 378)

Prozac Nation by Elizabeth Wurtzel (Php 609)

My Name Is Memory by Ann Brashares (Php 315)

And a grand total of:  Php 2457

I know it’s a lot but this would be my last book shopping this month. I would probably buy next month or maybe by March. And oh, I bought them all from Fully Booked. :)

Will go book shopping tomorrow.

It’s been a while since I let myself have a book spree. So yeah, tomorrow is the day. I just hope I can find the books I’m looking for. Wish me luck fellow book geeks! :)

Done with my Christmas shopping.

Went out and gone to the mall today to buy presents. Damn, it was hard to find good gifts for everyone. It took me 4 hours to buy all of the things in their wishlist. And wow, I spent a lot today especially for my mom. Here’s what I was able to buy for my family and friends:

  • A big saddle bag for my Mom (she wants a new bag so badly)
  • Diary set for my sister (she loves writing things or whatever else)
  • Etude House nail polish for Denise and Cyrene (my closest cousins)
  • Several cute stick-on notes for Clarence (another cousin)
  • Satchel bag from EGG for Sarah (my baby in our secret santa)
  • Sling bag from EGG for AJ (my closest college friend and my roommate)
  • Waterproof volumizing mascara for Abby (also my roommate, her wishlist)
  • Cute shirt for Nathan (Abby’s boyfriend and my close friend, too)

So yep, that’s it. I don’t have a very long list because I only give gifts to my closest relatives and friends. I hope they like what I chose for them. Next up: Wrapping presents. Oh boy, this is my favorite part because I enjoy crafts and whatnots.

As usual, I let myself splurge. But not so much.

These are the books I’ve bought at the mall a while ago (and what you can see in the picture above):

  • The Scorch Trials by James Dashner
  • An Abundance of Katherines by John Green
  • A Million Little Pieces by James Frey
  • A Child Called “It” by Dave Pelzer

I was supposed to meet my friends at the SM Mall of Asia a while ago. I decided to go to Fully Booked first, since it was where we agreed to wait for each other. They weren’t there yet so I looked for books to buy. I can’t find any John Green books at the shelves so I asked the personnel They were all sold out. I was a bit disappointed but I just had myself contented with The Scorch Trials, the sequel to James Dashner’s The Maze Runner. And when I got bored waiting for my friends to arrive, I took a stroll to Book Sale. As always, I took my time, shelf by shelf, to read every book titles so I can find a good book. After half an hour, I fond Dave Pelzer’s A Child called “It” and James Frey’s A Million Little Pieces. My friends aren’t texting me yet so I continue my hunt even though I think that I’m good with those two book. Well, let’s just say that I’m a lucky girl because I found one of John Green’s book, which is the An Abundance of Katherines. I literally squealed inside the bookstore! I’ve been looking for any of his books for so long. I’ve been to Powerbooks, Fully Booked and National Bookstore of every SM I visited, Ayala Malls and such. And what the hell? I found it at Book Sale. BOOK SALE. I got it for Php145. The cover is good, no damages and there are no writings inside. So, I think, all in all, it was a great haul. I am so happy. Oh books, such euphoria you can bring!

Mom, next time you want to go shopping, don’t bothering taking me with you.

God, you really have to slam it my face that you prefer my sister more than me, huh? You’re supposed to go shopping with me. ME. You promised. And yet, every store that we’ve been to, all babble about is how my sister would like that dress, would love those shoes, would enjoy the store, and all that shit. God, I thought this was our time that’s why my sister didn’t come with us. But still, in the end, half of everything we bought was for my sister. Wow, that was so nice, especially when I’ve never been bought anything when you are out with my sister. I practically need to beg you to bye me the things I want but when it comes to my sister, it’s all so very easy. Ha. Really, thank you so much for being a fair parent.
